The excess pressure in the cooling system
The cooling system with the engine running under pressure. Therefore, the boiling point rises from +100 to +126 ?� C. Heat promotes a more economical engine operation. The excess pressure in the cooling system is about 1.4-1.5 bar. If the engine is hot the pressure in the cooling system rises, opens the pressure reducing valve on the lid of the expansion tank and the pressure is released to the atmosphere.
