Removing and installing the rear drive shaft flange and a double-row angular contact ball bearing rear hub



Details of installation flange and the rear drive shaft double row angular contact wheel bearing

PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Details of the installation flange rear drive shaft and radial-axial wheel bearing shown in the illustration, which includes all the links in the text.
  2. Remove the rear drive shaft (37) (see. Section Removal and installation of power shafts).
  3. Do not disconnect the hose, remove the rear brake caliper (111) (see chap. Brakes and auxiliary systems).
  4. Remove the brake disc (112b) (see chap. Brakes and auxiliary systems).
  5. Remove the parking brake shoes (see chap. Brakes and auxiliary systems).
  6. With the help of a hydraulic extractor remove the flange of the rear drive shaft (10) with the remaining car the hub assembly.

If the efforts of 40 Nm removal shaft is insufficient, remove the hub assembly and repeat the procedure in a hospital.

  1. Using pliers, remove the retaining ring (9).
  2. If necessary, remove a brake board (112c).
  3. Using a special puller press out from the hub assembly, double-row angular contact ball bearing (8).
  4. Extract the inner race of the bearing flange of the drive shaft.
  5. Rate the transverse and radial play of the flange (10), in case of need make replacement.
  6. Installation is in the reverse order.
