Dismantling of the drive shafts and replacement of protective covers



Outer constant velocity joint does not understand. If there is any damage, replace the entire shaft. Both the cover removed from the inside. When continuous operation is recommended to replace both the cover.

Dismantling

PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. Remove the rear drive shaft, refer to the appropriate section.

2. Loosen the screw clamps, cut the clip and replace them when you install the threads.

3. Remove the cover of the internal hinge at the case and slide in the direction of the drive shaft as follows:

?� Hold the drive shaft in a vice;
?� Propylene hacksaw cover cover an angle of about 45 ?� so as to obtain the angular groove.

?� Take the lid cover with tweezers, grasp the end and screw so that the lid cover separated from the body of the hinge.

4. Wipe off the grease with a cloth hinge.

5. Press out the drive shaft of the internal hinge on the press. As the lining, use half rings, which rest on the shoulder joint. Semirings have the following dimensions:

The outer diameter of 50 mm
The inner diameter of 33 mm
The length of 50 mm.

6. Remove the cover of the internal hinge from a power shaft.
7. If necessary, remove the cover of the external hinge clamps, remove the cover and remove the cover over the shaft. At the same time, take care that the joint no dirt. Before removing the cover, remove the grease from the inside of the cover and enter it into the hinge.
8. If necessary, rinse the hinge in petrol and check the track clips for wear and damage. If there is excessive wear is necessary to replace the entire joint.
9. Clean the rear drive shaft.


Assembly

PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. To replace the protective cover repair kit should be used. When continuous operation is recommended to also replace the second case.

2. Put on the drive shaft splines mounting sleeve. If such a sleeve is not available, obkleyte Slots protective film so as not to damage the cover.

3. Slide a new outer sealing ring.
4. Put the outer cover and hose clamps.
5. Put on the drive shaft of the inner cover, and clamps.
6. Put a new inner seal.
7. Remove the mounting sleeve and protective film.
8. Put on the shaft inner joint.

9. Clamp the shaft in the area of the shoulder cover jig or vise with protective jaws.

10. Press in constant velocity joint using drift all the way to the adjacent surface of the rear drive shaft. Then press them pivot so that the projection rear drive shaft is 4.2 mm.
11. Clamp the shaft in a vice so that the hub is adjacent to the hinge half-rings. Secure the shaft coinage. At the same time make a new coinage, in the middle between the two already available. To apply a coining tool with a working part of the width of 5 - 6 mm.

To avoid damage to the raceways, for example due to a rebound tools necessary to perform the minting as close as possible to the slots.

12. Remove the jig.
13. Put the cover to lock the cover to the corresponding hinge ring.

It does not lubricate the sealing ring, otherwise later case will rotate on the pivot ring. If necessary, the ring can be put in place with light plastic mallet.

14. Secure boot lid four strokes circumferentially at 90 ?� in the groove of the yoke. Then tighten the cap with a hammer into the groove of the yoke. Making sure the correct position of the lid cover.
15. Fill the cavity and covers internal and external constant velocity joints lubricated Mersedes volume of 100 g Make sure that the hinges are no dirt.
16. Place the protective cover on the lid so that the sealing lip is between the projections cover the lid cover.
17. Slide covers the small diameter of the drive shaft to thickening, so that after the installation was not visible groove of the drive shaft. Thickening of cover thus is fixed in the first shaft groove. Slide the clamps and secure them.

Screw clamps are pointing in the same direction. In the second set the cover clamps so that was offset by 180 ?� with respect to the first boot.

18. Install the drive shaft.
