Removing and installing drive shafts wheels

If the damage is external, located by the wheel, constant velocity joint corresponding shaft must be replaced completely.

Withdrawal

PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. Apply the parking brake.

When loosening the wheel nuts car should stand wheels on the ground. Including transfer, tighten the brake. Big time loosening. There is a risk of an accident!

2. Bend the screwdriver shoulder wheel nuts from the groove of the shaft. Unscrew the nut dodecahedral head.

3. Release the parking brake.
4. Mark a paint position of the rear wheels relative to the hub. This allows the assembly to set Balanced wheels in their former position. Loosen the wheel bolts before jacking the car. Lift the rear of the car, put it on supports and remove the rear wheels.
5. Remove the rear caliper and secure it with a wire to the body, address to Section Removal and installation of a back support.

Do not disconnect the brake hose. Otherwise, after the installation of the brake system will have to remove the air.

6. Remove the connecting rod extending to the stabilizer.
7. Remove the speed sensor from the knuckle.
8. Disconnect the tie rod from the knuckle.
9. Fold the fist outward and simultaneously squeeze the drive shaft from the flange.

It does not drag brake cable. Do not damage the protective covers and the ring gear speed sensor.

10. Fold back fist and fix a wire.

11. If the drive shaft is firmly seated in the flange, squeeze his usual puller.

In contrast to the one shown in the accompanying illustration caliper removed.

The drive shaft type 1

PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. Remove the drive shaft (1) with an inner joint (2) of the main transmission (3).

It does not damage the O-ring in the main transmission.

If necessary, disconnect the drive shaft with a hammer on the outer ring of the hinge and with the appropriate knockout.

2. Visually inspect the damage to the cuff in the main transmission, replace if necessary.

To do this, squeeze screwdriver cuff. Before installation grease sealing lips are a universal oil for hypoid SAE 85W-90. Fitting the cuff using the corresponding punch.

Drive shaft version 2

PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. Remove the six Torx screws and remove the drive shaft (1) from the coupling flange (2). (3) - the main transfer.

Ensure the correct position of the head end in the screw head Torx. If necessary, clean profile screw Torx.

2. Slide the drive shaft, then tilt down and remove.

Take care when removing the shaft appeared not locking cap.

3. Check the dust cover and sealing cap for leaks and damage, and repair if necessary.

If you remove the drive shaft of the vehicle should not stand on wheels with a full load, and should not be moved, because in the absence of axial preload can be damaged by the rolling bodies of the wheel bearing.

Setting

PERFORMANCE ORDER

If you remove the drive shaft requires a greater effort required to extrude the wheel hub, we recommend that at the end of the shaft cut M8 internal thread depth of 20 mm. In this hole, you can screw the tool for removal. Depending on the version of the drive shaft there may be a hole diameter of 6.8 mm, which corresponds to the inner diameter of the M8. Before installing the clean profile of the splines of the remnants of grease.

The drive shaft type 1: Insert the main shaft of the transmission so that the snap ring is clearly recorded.

At the same time, set a horizontal joint housing so as not to skew the splined shaft during installation. Hinge housing must be located close to the crankcase main gear.

Drive shaft version 2

PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. Clean the surface between the connecting flange and the locking lid.
2. Install the shaft at the flange.
3. Lightly grease the threads and bearing surface of the head of new screws Torx.
4. Install a new washer and screw the screws Torx. The screws tighten crosswise torque 70Nm.
5. Secure the new self-locking nuts tie rod and bars.

When tightening the drive shaft nuts must be brought into a horizontal position. To do this, lift the holder wheel jack.
Tightening torques are given in the specification.

6. Secure the speed sensor from the knuckle point 8 nm.
7. Insert the connecting rod stabilizer and fix its moment of 40nm.
8. Establish a support and fix its moment of 55nm, address to Section Removal and installation of a back support.
9. Replace the rear wheels so that coincided marks put at removal. Preliminary grease with a thin layer of bearing grease centering the belt drive wheel on the hub. Bolts do not grease the wheels. Rusty bolts replace. Tighten the screws. Lower the car on wheels and tighten bolts cross-wise the moment of 110 nm.
10. Apply the parking brake.
11. Screw a new twelve-collar nut and tighten to 220Nm.

The vehicle should stand wheels on the ground. The nut must always be replaced by a new one. When tightening the switch gear and apply the parking brake.

12. Lock nut, which knockout hammer rib in the groove, so that between the groove and the collar is no gap.

13. Release the parking brake.
14. Check the oil level in the main transmission.
