Intercooler - general information

The intercooler is essentially a heat exchanger for reducing the temperature of air passing therethrough.

The air, clutching the turbocharger is heated. Wherein the oxygen partial pressure falls. To prevent this, the intercooler applied, after which the cooled air enters the intake manifold.

Compressed air is not supplied to the intake pipe (as in conventional diesel engines), and an intercooler. The intercooler is located in front of the engine compartment and blown in a natural way while driving. The air from the compressor enters the bottom of the cooler and cooled as it moves upward. Intercooler looks the same as the cooling radiator. From the intercooler air is supplied into the intake pipe.
