Check axial displacement mechanism

Place the vehicle on level ground. Set the wheels straight-ahead. Set the indicator, it should rest on the foot end of gear, lying parallel to the axis of the steering shaft. Force of about 50 N with the engine off, move the steering wheel in the axial direction and check the indicator. If the axial movement of the steering mechanism is greater than 2 mm, tighten the bolts fastening the supports of gear. If after this axial movement is corrected replace the support.
