Removal and installation of the steering mechanism



In the event of a fault in the steering gear assembly is replaced. Disconnect the negative battery terminal. Install the front wheels straight. Using a syringe pump out fluid from the power steering fluid reservoir.

Remove the protective cover of the steering column to access and universal joint. Mark the position of the steering shaft. Remove the bolt of the universal joint. Remove the left wheel mudguard. Disconnect from the steering knuckle tie rods, which rasshplintuyte and unscrew the nuts and press out the hinge pin puller of the holes in the steering knuckle. Remove the front exhaust pipe. Separate connecting rod from the gearbox. Clamp the power steering lines and remove the nozzle from the gear casing, drowning out the hole plugs. Remove the steering rack mounting bolts to a cross-body (Fig. 6.3) and remove the steering wheel through the arch of the left.

Installation spend to sequences, return to removal. Adding to the steering linkage knuckle set distance X equal to 187 mm (Fig. 6.4). Check the amount of displacement of steering rack, which should be 65 mm to the right and to the left (Fig. 6.5), otherwise replace the steering gear. Install the steering shaft and steering gear for applied when removing labels. Tighten the bolts securing the steering bearings in the order shown in Fig. 6.6. Replace the O-ring pipe unions. Bleed the power steering system. Check and adjust the wheel alignment.
