1. If the warning light battery in the instrument panel does not illuminate when the ignition is switched, the first thing to check the circuit of the lamp. |
2. If a defect is detected, the defective generator, which in this case should be taken to repair or replace. |
3. If the warning light illuminates with the engine running, check the belt tension and alternator mounting. |
4. If defects are found, then take them to repair the generator. |
5. If there are signs of trouble charging circuit at a burning control lamp, check the voltage regulator as follows. |
6. Connect a voltmeter to the battery. |
7. Bring engine speed to those at which the generator voltage of 13-14 V. |
8. Turn on all consumers (headlights, heater glass, etc..) And check the voltage, which must still be 13-14 V. |
9. If the voltage is different, the generator is faulty and should be returned for repair. |
