Automatic transmission

Automatic transmissions are installed on cars with engines of 1.4 and 1.6 liters. Transmission consists of a torque converter, planetary gears and hydraulic clutches and multi-disc servo.

Planetary gear transmits the torque from the motor at different gear ratios. Transmission fluid under pressure, enables or disables a variety of servo-hydraulic clutches and in the planetary gear, thus achieving a change of gear. The fluid pressure in the system is supported by a separate pump. Management of transmission selector lever is provided, which is fixed at 6 positions. The selector position D provides automatic change of 4 speeds. To automatically switch to a lower transmission speed (high gear ratio) at full throttle provides kick-down-device. The position of the selector 2 car can move at a speed corresponding to the first two gear ratios, and in position 1 - Only the first gear ratio. It is forbidden to switch the transmission in position 1 and 2 if the speed exceeds 110 km / h. A button on the selector switch transcendent mode (engine braking or overload). Under normal driving conditions, this switch must be set to ON, and when driving on slopes or inclines - set to OFF. Any repairs to the transmission is performed in the service of car-care center.

Withdrawal

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Pick up the entire car and establish on supports.
2. Turn the selector to position N.
3. Remove the front wheels.
4. Drain the coolant, tighten the drain plug.
5. Remove the battery.
6. On vehicles GE16DE remove an air filter.
7. Disconnect the double switch and solenoid.
8. Remove the kick-down-the cable from the throttle body.
9. Remove the nut and remove the cable from an arm and staples.
10. Disconnect the cable from the lever transmission, remove the clamp and remove the cable.
11. Clamp collars coolant hoses, remove the nozzle and disconnect hoses.
12. Remove the semi-axis (see. Subsection 10.2).
13. Remove a reception exhaust pipe.
14. Remove the starter.
15. Remove the bottom cover and remove the crankcase transmission torque converter bolts, turning the crankshaft.
16. hang out the engine on the hoist or lift jack.
17. Roll the aerial platform and prop up the transmission.
18. Remove the nut and get a coupling bolt of a back support of the engine.
19. Remove the three screws and remove the bracket.
20. Remove the stop ring.
21. Remove the nut and get a coupling bolt of the left engine mounts.
22. Remove the three bolts and remove a support and cushion.
23. Secure the torque converter.
24. Remove the bolts from the transmission pre denoting the place of each bolt (bolts are of different lengths).
25. Make sure that all the necessary parts are disconnected and can not prevent removal.
26. Carefully post to the left and roll platform with the transmission.
27. Remove the pins if weakened their landing.

Setting

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Installation is performed in reverse order.
2. When installing the torque converter, check the distance from the bolt holes to split the plane of transmission (A), which should not be less than 21.1 mm.
3. Replace the seals semi-axes, adjust the kick-down-rope.

Dismantling

Independent repair is not recommended, as it requires high skills and special tools. A car with a faulty transmission should be put into the service of car-care center for the diagnosis code and repair failures. Transmission can be removed only after the reading of diagnostic codes.
