Checking the ignition FEI

Ignition coil
Check Digifant control unit is performed in the following order:

Check the resistance of the secondary winding of the ignition coil
Fig. 6.17. Check the resistance of the secondary winding of the ignition coil 1 - the ignition coil; 2 - terminal plug 1 (-); 3 - Terminal 4 (HT); 4 - terminal 15 ()

- Disconnect the electrical wires and remove the cover from the ignition coil (see. Fig. 6.17);
- Connect the tester between the terminals 1 (-) and 15 (+) and check the resistance of the primary winding of the ignition coil;
- Connect the tester between the terminals 4 (HT) and 15 (+) and check the resistance of the secondary winding of the ignition coil.

The control unit FEI
Check FEI control unit in the following order:
- Disconnect the control unit FEI, then switch on the ignition;

Check the voltage between terminals 3 and 5, 6, and 3 of the control unit FEI
Fig. 6.23. Check the voltage between terminals 3 and 5, 6, and 3 of the control unit FEI

- Connect the tester between 3 and 5 of the control unit, and the unit should show the battery voltage. Battery voltage must also be between terminals 3 and 6 (Fig. 6.23);
- Actuate the throttle switch, the voltage should be reduced to zero, and then switch off the ignition;

Temperature dependence of the resistance of temperature sensor
Fig. 6.24. Temperature dependence of the resistance of temperature sensor

- Connect the tester to the terminals 1 and 3, compare the readings with the data for the temperature sensor (Fig. 6.24). Replace the sensor as needed;
- Tighten the locking tabs and disconnect the electrical connector from the distributor. Connect the tester to the external contacts of an electric socket, turn on the ignition, the voltage must be 5 V Switch off the ignition;
- Connect the tester to the terminals 15 (+) and 1 (-) ignition coil (see. Fig. 6.17), then turn the ignition;
- Close to the mass of the central contact distributor (Hall sensor) the voltage for a short time should be increased to 2 V. In this case, you will hear the sound of the fuel pump working for a short time. Otherwise, you must replace the fuel pump relay or block FEI.

Hall Sensor
Check the Hall sensor in the following order:
- Check the unit FEI;
- Tighten the locking tabs and disconnect the electrical connector from the distributor;
- LED connect the probe to terminals 2 and 6 of the electric connector of the control unit, then turn on the starter. Moreover, if the Hall sensor is defective, the LED tester should flash.
