Fuel pump
Fuel pump carburetor engines On vehicles equipped with petrol engines, the fuel pump is located on the left side of the cylinder, close to the oil filter bracket and is driven by the intermediate shaft. Check the functioning of the fuel pump in the following order:

- Disconnect the hose from the pump 4 16; - Repeatedly press the lever on the pump. If the pump by pressing the lever to pour the fuel, then pump is faulty; - Otherwise the pump to be repaired. Fuel pump motors vpryskovyh

On vehicles equipped with engines with fuel injection, the fuel pump can be installed in the fuel tank or outside the tank before the fuel filter for the right side (Fig. 5.12 and 5.13). On cars with engines SOHC fuel pump mounted in the fuel tank. On vehicles with a DOHC engine fuel pump installed in a fuel tank and a second pump mounted behind the fuel filter. Access to the pump can be obtained after raising the rear of the vehicle and remove the bottom protection. Check the functioning of the fuel pump in the following order: - Check the fuse in the circuit of the fuel pump; - Disconnect the high-voltage wire from the ignition distributor (middle line) and connect it with a mass, if necessary using an additional piece of wire; - Include a starter, and the pump should be a monotone noise; - If the noise of the pump is not, remove the fuel pump relay and connect the relay to the positive terminal of the battery. If the pump starts, the relay is faulty and must be replaced. If the pump does not work, check the electrical wires to the pump; - If the pump is working, but the fuel is fed less than normal, probably clogged fuel filter. If the pump is faulty, it must be replaced. Removal and installation of the fuel pump installed in the tank, in the following order: - Disconnect the negative terminal of the battery; - Disconnect the fuel hoses from the supply 6 (see. Fig. 5.12) and the return nozzles 8; - Disconnect the electrical wires from the lid 9; - Unscrew and remove the large flange nut 7 cover fixing; - Remove the cover 9 and the O-ring 10; - Remove the fuel pump 15 and the housing 16 of the tank. The pump and the casing removed from the fuel gauge sender 2; Installation spend to sequences, return to removal. Replace the pump seals. When driving large flange nuts when mounting the pump in the tank, check that the cover 9 has taken a certain position when the arrows on fittings (flow direction) coincide with the corresponding hoses. Removal and installation of the fuel pump installed outside, in the following order: - Disconnect the negative terminal of the battery; - Place a cloth under the pressure hose in the engine compartment; - Slowly loosen the connection and remove the pressure in the fuel system; - Re-tighten;

- To improve access, remove the four screws 17 (see. Fig. 5.13.) And the lower bracket 20 of the pump; - Disconnect the electrical connector from the fuel pump; - Loosen the ring 10 and slowly remove the pump; - Remove the seal 8 and the fuel strainer 7. The seal must be replaced. The strainer should be washed in clean gasoline.
A WARNING It does not operate the fuel pump if there is no fuel, because it can lead to failure of the pump and even catch fire. |
Installation spend to sequences, return to removal. Replace the O-ring before installing it moistened in gasoline.
