High pressure fuel pump
Removing the high pressure fuel pump In the following order: Disconnect the negative battery cable; Remove the air filter and air flow meter; Remove the cylinder head cover and the covers of a gear belt; Install the piston of the first cylinder in the top dead center;

Remove the timing belt from the pulley of the fuel pump 1 (Fig. 5.81) and the camshaft; lock the pulley of the fuel pump from turning and unscrew the bolt of a pulley; Using a puller, remove the pulley from the shaft of the fuel pump; Using two wrenches, loosen fuel pipes 5 from the back of the fuel pump and the fuel injectors 16; unscrew the supply and return fuel from the fuel pump; Remove the fuel injector fuel return hose; Disconnect the electrical connector from the solenoid valve stops the engine; AAZ engine to disconnect a cable of a cold start of the fuel pump; AAZ engine to disconnect the accelerator cable from the lever of the fuel pump; on engines 1Z, AHU and AFN Mark and disconnect electric sockets from fuel injectors and fuel control unit; on all engines except motor AAZ (October 1994), when the fuel pump will be re-installed using the scriber, mark the position of the pump in relation to the front bracket.
Engine AAZ (October 1994) Mark and disconnect electric sockets from the valve injection timing, injection cycle sensor shut-off valve and actuator enrichment idle speed; on later models with a single multipin electrical connector, disconnect the electrical connector from the bracket and unscrew the bolt earthing; On vehicles with the air conditioning system, disconnect the vacuum hose from the actuator to increase the idle speed.
All models Remove the bolt back of the fuel pump; Unscrew three nuts front of the fuel pump and remove the fuel pump from the engine.
Installing the high pressure fuel pump In the following order: Install the fuel pump to the engine and screw the bolt back of the fuel pump, having tightened its demanded moment; screw bolts the front of the fuel pump and tighten their demanded moment. If the pump is reinstalled, before tightening the mounting bolts of the fuel pump combine the labels put before removal of the pump; on all engines except motor AAZ (October 1994) fill the high pressure fuel pump diesel fuel through the nozzle to connect the fuel return pipe; Connect the fuel lines connecting the high pressure fuel pump and fuel injectors; connect to the fuel pump fuel supply and return pipes; connect to the fuel injectors fuel return pipe; establish a pulley on the shaft of the fuel pump and fix a bolt, tightening it by hand; Align the mounting holes in the pulley of the fuel pump and the fuel pump bracket and install the rod block; Install the timing belt, check and, if necessary, adjust the injection timing of the fuel pump; Adjust the toothed belt tension and tighten the pulley bolt torque of the fuel pump; Install the timing belt covers and the cylinder head cover; The further installation is made in sequence, return to removal.
Engines 1Z, AHU and AFN Check and, if necessary, adjust the dynamic fuel injection timing at the service station.
Engine AAZ Connect the high pressure fuel pump and an accelerator cable wire cold start; on engines manufactured before October 1994: check and, if necessary, adjust the static moment of injection of the fuel pump; check and, if necessary, adjust the idle speed; check and, if necessary, adjust the maximum engine speed; check and, if necessary, adjust the idle speed is increased.
