Overview
Front wheel drive shafts transmit the torque from the transmission to the drive wheels. The shafts consist of three parts: the inner and outer constant velocity joints (CV joints) and of the shaft. Slotted tip of the outer casing of the hinge is inserted into the wheel hub and is fixed with a nut. CV joints are lubricated with grease, the replacement of which is carried out only when disassembling the hinge. The Passat are two types of shafts: for vehicles with an engine power up to 66 kW and for cars with engine capacity of more than 66 kW.
