Removal and installation of the external hinge

The diameter of the outer constant-velocity joint may be 81.0 or 90.0 mm. The outer diameter of 90.0 mm joint has a rugged design and is different from a diameter of 81.0 mm joint protective cover and the presence of a protective cover two steel rings (Fig. 9.8). Removing the external hinge spend in the following order; - Cnimite clamps protective cover and slide the cover from the hinge to the drive shaft; - Thoroughly clean the inside of the joint and remove the snap ring from the inside of the hinge;

- Secure the drive shaft in a vice with soft sponges and aluminum or copper hammer bring down the hinge from the drive shaft (Fig. 9.9); - Remove the snap ring, gasket and dished the puck from the end of the drive shaft. The installation of the external hinge spend in the following order; - Fill the internal hinge 90 g grease; - Replace the drive shaft Belleville washer, the convex side to the hinge;

- Install a new drive shaft snap ring, secure the shaft in a vice with soft sponges and aluminum or copper mallet tamp joint on the drive shaft, and the retaining ring must exactly enter into a groove on the inner side of the joint (Fig. 9.10);

- Replace the hinge mud cover and secure it with cable ties (Fig. 9.11). Before attaching a protective cover clamps, screwdriver

Lift the inner edge of the cover to equalize the air pressure under the cover;
NOTE On cars with petrol engines and 1.6-liter turbodiesel engines from September 1990 established the modernized antisplash covers, which are used for mounting clamps upgraded. To fix these clamps need a tool 1683 (Fig. 9.12). |
- Sponge tool set at the corners Clamp and in this position, tighten the screw jaws.
