Removing and installing master cylinder



Withdrawal
Remove the support bracket, Passat.
Remove the support bracket, Eos.

Using tongs unhook mount master cylinder rod (Fig. 3.15).
Insert spacer A between the clutch pedal and stop and press the clutch pedal to the spacer.
The length of the spacer is about 40 mm (eg, 1/2 wrench socket)

Unlock the safety bracket in and pull out the master cylinder from the support bracket 1 and 2 (Fig. 3.18).

Setting
Move the clutch pedal all the way into the neutral position.

Installation mounting for traction drive of the master cylinder

Install the mounting 2 for traction drive 1 of the main cylinder (Fig. 3.16).
Insert spacer A between the clutch pedal and stop and press the clutch pedal to the spacer.
The length of spacer is approximately 40 mm (e.g., 1/2 wrench socket).
Lock the master cylinder on the hinge 1 and 2 (Fig. 3.18).

Click on the drive rod 1 to the master cylinder in the direction of the arrow until a click is heard fastening 2 in the clutch pedal (Fig. 3.19).
Install the support bracket.
