Assembling the shock absorber



Assembling the shock absorber is carried out in sequence, return dismantling, and the need to pay attention to the following.
Wishbone suspension. If you have removed the reference ball joint, then it must be installed in accordance with the description, see. Div. 12.5.
Rounded fist:
- Insert a necessary tool between the two planes on the bottom of the shock absorber and install on one line bolt holes;
- Carefully score the two greased bolts without damaging the threads. Then drill screws to bring them back to the previously marked position. The only way to preserve the original camber. Otherwise, adjust the camber;
- Installed on both bolts self-locking nuts and tighten to 95 Nm, while not turning the screws.
Spring:
- Before installation of the spring, make sure that it is not damaged protective coating, as otherwise corrosion may occur. If removed both springs, set them to their former places;
- The lower end of the spring installed in accordance with the shape of the shock absorber plate;

- Compress the spring (see. Fig. 268) and install it on the shock absorber base;

- Set the shock absorber bearings and other items as shown in Fig. 260 and screw nut;
- Tighten the nut of the piston rod when the rod is held in a fixed position to 60 Nm.
Wheel bearing:
- When installing a new bearing insert on the outside of the knuckle snap ring and lubricate the inner surface of the bearing housing with graphite grease;

- Wheel set bearing housing under a press and press in the wheel bearing from the inside out;

A warning
In no case does not admit that the force had to lug the shock absorber. Press-fit the bearing until it stops against the snap ring. It must sit firmly in the groove. In Fig. 270 shows how the steering knuckle is mounted on the press table.

- Press in the wheel hub. Wheel hub for this set on the press table and knuckle already installed wheel bearing - journal of the hub. Set the mandrel on the inner ring of the wheel bearing and drive the entire assembly into the hub. Fig. 271 shows how these items are pressed. Pre-Screw ring gear ABS to the wheel hub, if it was removed (if installed ABS);

- Set the reflector and the brake disc.
