Fuel-injection systems

System of the central injection Mono-Motronic, already known by model Golf, before the end of 1995 installed on all engine models Polo. The system in collaboration with the ignition system is controlled by the electronic control unit in accordance with the incoming data on air temperature and the coolant, acceleration, load, etc. The system Mono-Motronic integrated self-diagnostic system. When a fault occurs in a controlled sensing elements, sensors or other components of the memory device, it is fixed and can be accurately determined by the request. Volkswagen Service Center uses for this purpose a special tester. Even if the engine is not running, there is a possibility while cranking the engine to identify the cause of the fault.

Basic elements of system of injection Mono-Motronic in the engine compartment
Fig. 110. The main elements of system of injection Mono-Motronic in the engine compartment: 1 - switching valve to the absorber; 2 - knock sensor (only ADX, AEA); 3 - injector; 4 - temperature controller for heating the intake air; 5 - control system Mono-Motronic; 6 - servomotor angle move the throttle to idle switch; 7 - electric socket; 8 - the fuel pressure regulator; 9 - injector with the intake air temperature sensor; 10 - potentiometer throttle position; 11 - the ignition coil; 12 - the ignition distributor; 13 - pin connector with four pins; 14 - central electrical connector; 15 - coolant temperature sensor; 16 - the connection with "weight"; 17 - a spark plug 25 Nm; 18 - air filter; 19 - absorber

Fig. 110 shows the engine compartment located therein details of Mono-Motronic. The figure is not represented air.
Idle speed and CO content in the system has full control electronics, any setting can not be carried out without special device. The content of CO is also adjusted automatically, according to information from the lambda sensor. Problems identified in the self-diagnosis system and recorded memory. Thus, idling and the maintenance WITH can be controlled, but monitoring of CO necessary tester.
Since the beginning of 1996 with new engines equipped with fuel injection systems. Initial System Mono-Motronic is stored only in the engine capacity of 1.0 liters. Although the new engine 1.4-liter still equipped with fuel injection and ignition Motronic, now this injection system has the designation Motronic MP9.O. When fuel injection is injected immediately before the intake valve of each cylinder therefore achieved a better distribution of the fuel mixture in combination with a relatively low injection pressure values.
The new engine uses a new system of air suction. Her feature - the intake manifold made of fiberglass.
Since 1996, the engine capacity of 1.6 liters sets a new injection system in combination with the ignition system manufactured by Magnetti-Marelli, which is designated by 1 AV.
