Checking the oil level in a transmission and the main transfer

To check the fluid level in the gearbox to warm up the engine and gearbox, for which it is necessary to travel by car about 1.5 km.

The marks on the dipstick automatic transmission
Fig. 355. Marks on dipstick automatic transmission

During level control engine must be idling. Control lever automatic transmission must be in position "P", the vehicle is braked the parking brake. Remove the dipstick, wipe it with a clean, lint-free cloth and reinsert into the oil hole. Remove the dipstick, the level should be between the two marks on the dipstick (Fig. 355). The difference between upper and lower marks is 0.4 liters.
If the working fluid is drained, the gearbox must be filled with liquid in the following order:
- Using a funnel and a hose length of approximately 0.5 m, fill the gearbox about 3.0 liters of fluid ATF. Start the engine and move the selector lever automatic transmission alternately in each position to fill the hydraulic fluid channels. After that, the lever is moved back to position "P". To brake the vehicle parking brake and set the speed corresponding to the idle speed. Again check the fluid level as described above. In no case do not pour the liquid, as otherwise you may damage the transmission. In this case it is necessary to pump the liquid from the carton;
- Replacing the fluid in the torque converter is about 2.1 liters and 0.5 liters in the gearbox. The total volume of fluid required to fill an automatic transmission, is 5.6 liters;

Dismounted roller drive tachometer. The oil level for the main gear must be between markings
Fig. 356. Dismounted roller drive tachometer. The oil level for the main gear must be between markings

- The oil level in the main transmission must be monitored after 10 000 km. To measure the oil level is taken out roller drive tachometer. On the underside of the trunnion can be seen as a shoulder on which to determine the oil level. After removing the roller shown in Fig. 356, it should be wiped dry and paste again. Again, remove the roll and determine the level of oil. It must be between the ?MIN? and ?MAX?.
If necessary, fill the main transmission synthetic oil G50. The total volume required to fill the main transmission is 0,75 l.
