Thermostat

Thermostat is under water hose fitting within the housing with three ports (see. Fig. 101). Overheating sensor mounted in the housing of the thermostat. The lid is sealed O-ring. The thermostat can be removed after draining the cooling system and unscrewing the housing cover.

Cooling System
Fig. 101. Details of the cooling system: 1 - bolts; 2 - coupling; 3 - O-ring; 4 - thermostat; 5, 6 - to the expansion tank; 7 - to the heat exchanger; 8 - from the heat exchanger; 9 - a sealing ring (always replace); 10 - the coolant circulation pipe; 11 - safety clip; 12 - the thermostat; 13 - bolt 10 Nm; 14 - overheating sensor with temperature sensor temperature gauge; 15 - a stopper; 16 - to the upper side of the radiator; 17 - to the lower side of the radiator; 18 - a collar

Carefully take the hose down. Remove the sealing ring from the cover and inspect it.
If you need to remove the cover disconnect all hoses, disconnect the wire from the clip overheating sensor and pull the body. Remove the rubber sealing ring.
Repair thermostat is not provided, so in the event of damage should be replaced. We recommend an easy way to check that is carried out as follows:
- A thermostat, suspended on a wire, dipped in a vessel with cold water, as shown in Fig. 108, and lower a thermometer in the water;

Check thermostat
Fig. 108. Check the thermostat

- Gradually heat the water and check if the thermostat starts to open at about 87 ? C. At a temperature of 102 ? C, the thermostat should be fully open;
- The pin of the thermostat must be of the thermostat for at least 7 mm. If the thermostat is faulty, it must be replaced.
When the thermostat setting to use a new gasket. The thermostat should be inserted as shown in Fig. 109. Jumper thermostat must engage the notch in the thermostat cap.

Set the thermostat
Fig. 109. Setting the thermostat

Check hose clamps before tightening them again. Cut spring clamps to replace the worm clamps. Fill the cooling system (Sect. 4.1.1). After that, let the engine and check all the connections of the cooling system for leaks.
