Check the thickness of brake linings
Before changing the brake pads of the rear wheels, measure the thickness of the lining on the brake pads. At the brake pad service life of approximately 50 000 km of run of the car, during which periodically check the thickness of the lining on the brake pads. There is a rule that under adverse driving conditions 1mm pad brake pad grinds at least 1000 km. Usually covers are much longer. For a rough estimate of the thickness of the brake linings, which should be carried out regularly, highlight a portable lamp in the viewing window of a support and a visual estimate of the thickness of the brake linings. To accurately determine the thickness of the brake linings must remove the rear wheel (rear of the car jacking and removing the bolts holding the wheel) and measure the thickness of the inner and outer brake pad. If the thickness of the lining with the brake pad is 7 mm, the wear limit is reached linings and pads should be replaced. The thickness of the pad without lining is 5 mm and the thickness of the wear lining up to 2 mm is the limit.
A warning Brake pads Always replace in pairs (included 4 pcs.), Even if only one pad worn pads and simultaneously on both rear brakes. Swap places the brake pads is prohibited. |
