The coolant pump is located to the right of the engine and driven by a Poly-V belt from the crankshaft of the engine (Fig. 467). In Fig. 468 pump is shown separately. The procedure for removing the coolant pump: - Turn off the AB; - Install the front part of the car on supports and remove the crankcase; - Drain the coolant from the cooling system (see. P. 19.1.1). - Loosen the screws coolant pump pulley until the belt is worn; - Remove ribbed belt; - Remove the water pump pulley; - Remove the four bolts of the crankshaft pulley and remove the pulley; - Remove the lower part of the protection of the drive belt; - Loosen the hose clamps in the places of their connection to the pump, and disconnect hoses; - Remove the bolts of the pump and remove the pump from the engine block. Remove the O-ring and check its condition. Another O-ring stands between the inlet pipe of the pump and the coolant pump housing. Installation of the pump takes place in reverse order. Tightening torque pump and pulley - 20 Nm. Install poly V-belt and adjust its tension as described in Sec. 19.3.3. Fill in cooling liquid in cooling system (see. P. 19.1.1).
