System of additional giving of air

This system for 65 injects air for exhaust valves when the engine coolant temperature between 15 ? and 35 ? C. As a consequence of motor out oxygen-rich exhaust gases, which contribute to post-combustion and allow faster catalyst warm up. The operation of the system with additional air controls computer ?Motronic? relay through the secondary pump to the valve and the secondary air inlet valve combined.

Elements of system of additional giving of air
Fig. 99. Elements of system of additional giving of air: 1 - the air duct in the cylinder head; 2 - a bolt, 25 Nm; 3 - a vacuum hose; 4 - lifting eye; 5 - the holder; 6 - an additional inlet valve * / **; 7 - plug connector; 8 - a vacuum hose; 9 - an inlet hose; 10 - the engine air pump *; 11 - plug connector; 12 - the holder; 13 - bolt 10 Nm; 14 - hose clamp; 15 - a hose under pressure; 16 - the holder; 17 - combined valve; 18 - bolt 15 Nm; 19 - O-shaped sealing ring
___________
* The status of this part self-monitored device ..
** Condition is monitored in detail "the final conclusion of faults"

After each subsequent start of the engine until the moment when the engine temperature reaches 85 ? C, a system with additional air (Fig. 99) is activated with a delay of 20 sec and running at idling speed for 5 seconds, and the operation of the system control unit self.
State details of additional air supply is monitored or "the conclusion of the final fault," or if there was any defect, it will be recorded in the fault. When accessing the fault memory (the work is done at the station), the fault is easily diagnosed, and then can be corrected.
For some positions (see. Fig. 99) gives the following additional explanations:
- 1 in the duct of the cylinder head is forced additional air;
- Lifting eye 4 is screwed to the left cylinder head;
- In the collar 5 is screwed valve for additional air;
- Plug connector 7 is fitted on the intake valve (black);
- A vacuum hose 8 is connected between the top of the inlet pipeline and distribution fuel line;
- The inlet hose 9 runs from the top of the air filter. His connection should be sealed without air inlet;
- Plug connector 11 refers to the motor of the air pump. It is black in color and has two pins;
- The holder 12 holds the air pump motor. It is screwed into the air intake of the cooling fan;
- Hose clamp 14 secures the inlet hose;
- Pressure hose 15 is mounted between the engine 10 and pump combined valve 17;
- The holder 16 secures the combination valve on the guide tube probe to check the oil level;
- Always replace the O-ring seal 19.
