Removing the gearbox can be performed without removing the engine down. Removing the transmission is necessary for the repair or replacement of the clutch or gearbox.
Transmission is removed from the bottom of the car, so the car must be raised to the appropriate height. Regardless of the method of raising the vehicle is required to substitute under the vehicle frame support. Besides require vehicle jack to prop gearbox.
Removing the transmission sequence is as follows:
- Disconnect from the "-" O AB (do not forget the security code, radio);
- Yet the car is on wheels, remove the bolt hub left front wheel and loosen all the wheel bolts a few turns;
- Remove the air filter;

Attaching the cable to the lever transmission
Fig. 239. Attaching cables to the gear lever: 1 - select lever; 2 - the lever of inclusion of transfers

- Carefully push the screwdriver first cable from the lever 1 (Fig. 239) and a second gear selection lever 2 cable from the inclusion of transfers;

Mounting shift cable on the gearbox. To remove cables, squeeze the latches in the direction of the arrows
Fig. 240. Mounting shift cable on the gearbox. To remove cables, squeeze the latches in the direction of the arrows

- Squeeze the clips (fig. 240) and remove both the shift cable from mounting on the gearbox;
- Using a screwdriver, remove the retaining clip on the clutch slave cylinder pipe and install the pipe plugs in the holes;
- Disconnect all lines leading to the gearbox;
- Disconnect the electrical connector reversing light;
- Remove the upper bolts transmission to the engine;

Nuts of fastening (arrow) right support of the engine mount
Fig. 241. Nuts (arrow) right support of the engine mount

- Unscrew the nut (Fig. 241) securing the right support of the engine mount;
- Tie a rope to lift the engine and gently lift the engine and gearbox using the lift. Make sure that the motor is well fixed;
- If installed, remove the bottom casing of the engine compartment;
- Disconnect the wires from the starter and remove the starter;
- Lift the front of the car, put the car on supports and remove both front wheels;
- Loosen the nut of the hinge of steering draft and the press by means of a corresponding stripper head tie rod from the pitman arm. Remove the steering linkage rod and tie them with a wire to the body;

The location of attachment of the support arm on the knuckle (arrow)
Fig. 242. The location of attachment of the support arm on the knuckle (arrow)

- Unscrew the two screws (fig. 242) Support arm mounting arm to knuckle;
- Unscrew the nut connecting rod (connects the stabilizer bar and spring strut);
- Disconnect from the strut mount the brake hose and, if installed, the cable speed sensor ABS system;
- Substitute under transmission capacity to collect oil that will flow when removing the left of the drive shaft;

Removing the drive shaft
Fig. 243. Removing a drive shaft

- Set the mount short push in the direction shown (Fig. 243, indicated by the arrow), then slide the left drive shaft from the gearbox and remove the shaft from the wheel hub. To avoid transmission oil leakage from the gearbox, insert into the hole gearbox sealing plug;
- Remove the right drive shaft from the intermediate, thrust bearing, and tie it at the top with a piece of wire. It does not damage the paint color on the drive shaft;
- Unscrew the two screws on the middle of the intermediate bearing from the bracket on the crankcase and remove it together with the intermediate shaft of the transmission. If necessary, press the shaft of the gearbox;
- Insert into the hole in the gearbox sealing plug;

Fixing equalizer (pendulum) suspension Transmission
Fig. 244. Fixing equalizer (pendulum) suspension Transmission: 1 - balance-suspension; 2 - bolts and nuts equalizer suspension

- Remove the bolts nuts equalizer (pendulum) suspension 1 (Fig. 244). Balancer suspension can be mounted at the base of one or three bolts and nuts;
- Disconnect the electrical connector from the speed sensor on the gearbox (drive shaft near the hole);
- Loosen the fastening of a protective metal cover of the flywheel;

The locations of the screws (1 and 2) from the gearbox suspended
Fig. 245. The locations of the screws (1 and 2) from the gearbox suspended

- Remove the bolts 1 and 2 (Fig. 245) suspension gearbox (again, check that the gearbox is securely attached to the lift);
- Move the engine and transmission, as far as possible to the right;

The location of the mounting bolts (arrows) bracket on the gearbox
Fig. 246. The location of the mounting bolts (arrows) bracket on the gearbox

- Tilt the power unit to the left to access the mounting bracket (Fig. 246) suspension on the gearbox (the slope of the power unit can be carried out with the jack) and remove the mounting bracket;
- Support the bottom of the gearbox car jack. It is important that the gearbox was well fixed;
- Remove the bottom bolts of fastening of a transmission to the engine;
- Press gearbox guides the cylinder and gently lowered using the jack. Transmission needs a little tilt to it at lowering not catch on suspension parts.
