Removal and installation of steering draft



Withdrawal
The left and right tie rod ends are identical.
Their removal and installation are carried out without dismantling the steering.
Remove the front wheel.
Squeeze a tie rod of the wheel bearing housing.
Clean the drive the power steering in the area outside the anther.
Open the clamp and slide the clamp back.

Remove the tie rod with a wrench and insert (Fig. 5.15).

Setting
Install in reverse order, with the following should be considered.
Tighten the tie rod with a wrench and inserts.
Check the boot for wear (grooves, cracks) and contact surfaces of the boot - for dirt.
Set Bellow and collar.

NOTE
Only use the clamp.

Hold clamp using collet VAS 6199, as shown in Figure 5.16.
Further installation in reverse order.
Perform basic configuration sensor steering angle G85.

Tightening torques
Arm to the wheel bearing housing (use a new nut) - 90 Nm.
Track rod to the steering mechanism - 100 Nm.
