Management of the cooling fan

Elements of control system cooling fan and indicative of their location
Fig. 9.5. Elements of control system cooling fan and approximate their locations: 2/11 - the engine cooling fan (FC) (speed 1); 2/12 - the engine cooling fan (FC), controlled air conditioning; 3/1 - the ignition switch; 3/47 - pressure sensor air conditioner (A / C); 4/1 - the engine control unit Fenix 5.1; 6/9 - the engine cooling fan (FC); 24/27 - 12-pin connector wiring harness in the engine compartment (A) harness the engine control module (ECM); 31/1 - front left prong of the engine compartment; 31/2 - front right prong of the engine compartment; 31/25 - prong under the dashboard near the control unit fuel injection system;
67/23 - the gauge of the engine coolant temperature (ECT)

Controls cooling fan shown in Fig. 9.5.
Electrical wiring elements is shown on the color tab.
The control unit controls the electric cooling fan 6/9 (Fig. 9.5) by the fan relay 2/11; 2/12 after the sensor signals indicate the need for additional cooling system.
Cars are equipped with air-conditioning two-speed fan. In addition, cars are supposed to be operated in countries with hot climates, it is equipped with separate cooling fan BU. This fan operates simultaneously with the main fan. Fan runs at low speed when:
- The engine temperature is higher than normal;
- Using the air conditioner, the velocity is low and the pressure in the air conditioner has been exceeded since the last engine start;
- A temperature sensor located in the BU, BU registered a temperature rise.
BU includes an electric cooling fan at high speed if there is a risk of overheating the engine. After stopping the engine ECU can continue to support the work of the cooling fan at low speed if:
- Before switching off the engine is operated in the high load and temperature;
- The fan off at the time worked in the high speed mode, ie, there was a danger of overheating.
