Airbags

The car is equipped with an additional system of passive safety (airbags) SRS. The presence of this system can be identified by the inscription "SRS AIR BAG" available on the cover of the airbag in the steering wheel and on the patch panel on the passenger side of the glove compartment. The SRS consists of air bags installed under the plates in the middle of the steering wheel and in the panel on the passenger side of the glove compartment. The aim of additional system of passive safety SRS is to provide additional safety of the driver and / or front passenger in addition to the system of seat belts in frontal impacts or high average power.

Location Driver Airbag

A warning

Be sure to read information about the SRS on the label located on the back of the sun visor on the driver side and inside the glove box.
As the name of SRS, the system is designed to complement and work in conjunction with three-point seat belts for driver and front passenger, and not a substitute for them. Therefore, in a car, you should always wear seat belts. Moreover, the airbags are activated only when very strong blow when the impact occurs at an angle of 30 ? from the longitudinal axis of the vehicle and do not work in side and rear impact or rollover of a vehicle on the roof. In addition, the airbag trigger only once. Because you must always wear seat belts.
The driver should sit back as far as possible, while maintaining control of the vehicle. If you sit too close to the airbag when it disclose it can cause serious injury and even death.
At or near the airbag in the steering wheel, instrument panel and front panel above the glove box can not put any objects because such objects may cause injury in the event of airbag deployment on impact.
If the airbag has been deployed, it must be replaced by an authorized dealer of "Hyundai".
o Do not attempt to repair or disassemble the SRS wires or other components of it. This can lead to injuries caused by accidental activation of airbags or disabling of SRS.
Do not install the child safety system on the front-passenger seat. In the event of a crash and airbag deployment kids can get serious injuries.
Do not allow children to ride in the front passenger seat. If you have older kids can ride in the front seat, make sure that they are properly fastened, and that the seat is pushed back as far as possible.
For maximum protection in all types of collision, all passengers, including the driver should always wear seat belts regardless of the airbag in this seat, in order to minimize the risk of injury in the event of a traffic accident. Do not bend too close to the airbag when the vehicle is moving.
To provide protection in a collision, the SRS air bag filling gas occurs with great force. If the passenger is not wearing a seat belt, the airbag can swipe it, which may cause serious injury.

Features and the SRS

Supplemental Restraint System (SRS) includes the following components:

- The front driver's air bag assembly;
- Frontal airbag front passenger in the collection;
- Support for the knees;
- Warning lamp SRS;
- ECU SRS.

SRS-ECU continuously monitors all components of the system, when the ignition key is in the "ON" (On.), And determines whether enough has been strong frontal or near frontal impact in order to uncover the airbags.

SRS warning lamp in the instrument cluster will flash about 6 seconds after the ignition key is turned to "ON" (On.) Or after starting the engine, after which the lamp should go.

The airbags are located in the middle of the steering wheel and the panel opposite the front passenger seat of the glove compartment. When the SRS-ECU determines the frontal impact of sufficient force, it automatically opens the airbag.

Location of passenger airbag in the front seat

During airbag deployment, the expanding gas inflates the airbag cover beats that breaks special seam.

Disclosure driver airbag

Fully air bag deployment in conjunction with a properly fastened seat belt slows the driver's or front passenger seat forward, thereby reducing the risk of injury to the head and chest.

A warning

When placing in the vehicle tank with liquid air freshener, do not place it near any dashboard or on the surface of the instrument panel trim. In the case of leakage of the fluid from the container with air freshener and hit it on the dashboard, instrument panel trim or deflector ventilation system, it can damage these parts.
When triggered the airbag SRS hears a loud bang and allocated a certain amount of smoke and dust (powder). These phenomena are not dangerous and are normal. However, dust (powder) generated when filling the airbag with gas, can cause skin irritation. After triggering air bags, be sure to wash your face and hands with soap and warm water.
SRS system works only when the ignition key is in the "ON" (On.). If the SRS warning lamp is not lit or lit after blinking for approximately 6 seconds after the ignition key is turned to "ON" (On.), After the engine starts or comes on while driving, it indicates a malfunction of SRS. Immediately contact your dealer for Hyundai test system SRS.
Before replacing the fuse or unplugging the wire from the negative terminal of the battery, turn the ignition switch to "LOCK" (lock) and remove the key from the ignition. Do not remove or replace fuses relating to the system of SRS, when the ignition key is in the "ON" (On.). Failure to follow this precaution will lead to the fact that the SRS warning lamp lights up.

Side airbags

The side airbag located in the side of the front seat backrests. The purpose of this airbag - to provide additional protection for the driver and / or passenger protection in addition to safety belts. Such airbags are disclosed only in certain side impacts, depending on their strength, angle, velocity and location. Side airbags are not disclosed at all side impact.
