Start motor vehicles with carbureted engine



Normal engine start

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. On a car with manual transmission, set the gear lever to position "N" ("neutral gear") and depress the clutch pedal. On vehicles with automatic transmission, set the selector lever to position "P" ("Park").

A warning

Make sure that you fully depress the clutch pedal before starting the engine with a manual transmission. Otherwise there is a danger that, if when the engine car jump forward or backward, it can cause damage or injury to persons in the time outside the vehicle.


2. Turn the ignition key to "START" ("Starter"). Release the key when the engine starts. If the engine does not start at the first attempt, do not keep the starter for more than 15 seconds. Wait a few seconds before trying again.

Cold start

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Click on the accelerator pedal up to the stop and release it.
Before starting a cold engine, press the accelerator pedal all the way and release it
2. Turn the ignition key to "START" ("Starter"). Release the key when the engine starts.

A warning

Do not run the engine in gear.
Do not leave your vehicle unattended in the warm-up period of the engine. If the car is in the garage, make sure the garage door open. It is dangerous to leave the car with the engine running, even when the garage door open. Do not run the engine in the garage longer than is necessary to run the engine out of the car out of the garage.


Start a warm engine

When cranking the engine a starter, press the accelerator pedal about half of its course.

A warning

If the engine fails to start because of too high ambient temperature, while cranking the engine, press the accelerator pedal all the way.


Turn the ignition key to "START" ("Starter") and when the engine starts, release the ignition key and the accelerator pedal.

If the engine stalls

If the engine is stalled after start, repeat the above steps, taking into account weather conditions and the condition of the engine.
