The mechanism of the tilt steering column



PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Install the universal joint shaft pinion steering gear.

A warning

If the steering wheel is equipped with a mechanism for adjusting the angle of inclination, observe the following conditions.
Failure to meet these conditions can result in deformation of the bracket angle, whereby the lever may be damaged and a tilt lock lever.


2. Before installation, check that the bracket has a hole for the pin.

1) If so, fix the angle of the lever in neutral and set the lock pin into the hole, and then disconnect the lever angle.
2) Otherwise, fasten the lever angle around the neutral position.
3. Replace the screw that secures the steering shaft U-shaped member of the universal joint.

Torque: 15-20 N ??? m

4. Temporarily tighten the two mounting screws.
5. Screw the two mounting screws.

Torque: 13-18 N ??? m

6. Tighten to torque the two mounting bolts.
7. If detent pin is installed, move the steering column to the lower position.
