Battery care and its verification

At least once in two weeks with a dry cloth remove dust and dirt from the surface of the monoblock and the battery cover. If you happened to be on the cover of the electrolyte, remove it with a clean cloth dampened with a 10% solution of ammonia or baking soda. Then, wipe the surface of the lid.

A WARNING
Clean the surface of the lid only when tightly wrapped tubes to avoid contamination of the electrolyte.

Make sure that the plug has always been tightly wrapped in the neck of the cans. At least once every two weeks to check the purity of the gas outlet openings in tubes (if they are satisfied) or lid side walls, as these holes will cause clogging of gas pressure increase inside the battery that may cause damage.
To prevent oxidation of the pole terminals and battery wire terminals regularly clean the findings and tips, lubricate them with Vaseline or grease. Follow the density lugs connection wires and terminals.

HELPFUL ADVICE
Instead of the usual petroleum jelly or grease to protect against oxidation of the findings and tips are best used commercially available conductive copper-bearing lubrication.

Periodically check the battery is mounted on the vehicle and, if necessary, tighten it to prevent the appearance of cracks in the monoblock.

HELPFUL ADVICE
To reduce the vibrations transmitted to the monoblock battery, install the battery on the mat of acid rubber.

The wires should be attached to the battery terminals with the slack, as the tension of the wires can lead to loosening of the findings in the cover and electrolyte leakage.
Periodically (at least once in two weeks), check the electrolyte level in the battery cells.

NOTE
In batteries with a total for all elements of the cover, equipped with capacitor cavity is allowed to check the electrolyte level once every two months.

The level of the electrolyte in all cells should be 5-10 mm above the upper edge of the separator that is aligned with the level between the marks ?MIN? and ?MAX? on the wall of translucent body panels from other manufacturers.

HELPFUL ADVICE
Check the electrolyte level above the top edge of the glass tube separators convenient: push it all the way into the cell separator and closing the free end of the tube with your finger, remove the element.

To restore electrolyte level top up with distilled water only. If it is well established that the cause of the low level is splashing, then top up the electrolyte of the same density as that remaining in the battery cell. If the level is above normal, pump electrolyte rubber bulb with hard rubber tip.

A WARNING
It is strictly forbidden to refill the battery in concentrated acid!

If during the operation were difficult to start the engine, check the state of charge of the battery electrolyte density and the voltage at its findings in the unloaded condition (tab. 4.2). To check the electrolyte density hydrometer or use commercially available float indicator of the density of the electrolyte. The voltage across the terminals of the battery can be measured with any DC voltmeter with a measuring limit in 20 (similar to a voltmeter is a part of all commercially available avtotesterov).
If the battery charge level of 75% or less, it must be removed from the car and charge with the charger (see. "Charging the Battery").
