Replacing the engine oil and oil filter



According to the recommendations of the manufacturer's engine oil and oil filter should be replaced after one year of operation, or 15 thousand. Kilometers, depending on what comes first.

HELPFUL ADVICE
In severe operating conditions, in a large city, or very dusty terrain Replace oil and filter every 10 000 km.

You will need: engine oil, oil filter, clean cloth, return oil tank with a capacity of not less than 3.5 liters, the key is "17", a special wrench to loosen the oil filter.

HELPFUL HINTS
Drain oil after the trip, while the engine is still hot. If the engine is cold, empty and warm it up to normal operating temperature.
Pour the oil of the same brand as that of oil, which has been in the engine. If you decide to replace the brand of oil, wash the lubrication system flushing oil or oil of the brands that will be used. To do this, after draining the old oil pour new labels to the bottom of the oil dipstick. Start up the engine and let it run for 10 minutes at idle. Drain and only then replace the oil filter. Now you can fill with new oil up to the required level (upper mark on the dipstick).
A WARNING
Do not pour used oil on the ground.

2. Clean the drain plug on the oil sump of the engine with a wire brush, then with a cloth. Loosen the drain plug.
3. Remove the drain plug completely pre-substituting tank drained of oil, and drain the oil.
NOTE

Oil drain plug crankcase sealed copper gasket. Strongly deformed by compression or replace the gasket.

Be careful: the oil is hot!

The oil filter is mounted on the rear of the engine block near the 2nd cylinder.

6. ... and unscrew it from the nozzle of the cylinder.

To loosen the oil filter, use a special key. If such a key or similar stripper no knock the filter housing with a screwdriver and, using it as a lever, remove the filter. Knock the filter as close to the bottom, so as not to damage the socket. You can use the strip in half and rolled coarse sandpaper, wrapped it and filter it from place stronuv hands.

7. Fill the new filter by about 2/3 of the amount of clean engine oil ...

NOTE
Pour the oil into the filter is required for the first time the engine is started after the oil change quickly fill the oil passages and valve train parts as little as possible while working in conditions of oil starvation.

8. ... clean engine oil, lubricate the O-ring if it is not processed by the manufacturer grease or talcum powder, and screw the filter into the hands without tools 3/4 turn after contact between the ring and the cylinder flange.
9. Remove the oil filler plug of the engine.
10. Pour clean oil (see. "Checking and topping up oil in the lubrication system"). Reinstall the oil filler cap.
11. Start up the engine and let it run a few minutes at idle speed (indicator lamp oil pressure should go out after 2-3 seconds after starting the engine). During engine operation, check whether the oil is not leaking from the drain plug and oil filter. Stop the engine, check the oil level, add oil if necessary, tighten the drain plug and filter.
