Air bag



The electronic control unit airbags (arrow).

Additional passive safety system consists of an electronic control unit, two crash sensors and airbag modules.

How the system works

To airbags are filled with gas, it is necessary that the electronic control unit has received signals from one or both crash sensors and safety sensors.

Self-diagnostic system

When a fault is detected the electronic control unit includes a signal lamp on the instrument panel. In this case, you should immediately contact the experts.

Maintenance items located near the elements of the air bag

Sometimes, it is necessary to remove the steering wheel, radio, or other element near the instrument panel. Wires of an airbag can be easily distinguished, as they have bright yellow insulation. Never disconnect the connection terminals and do not use electrical test instruments for the verification of an airbag. Always disconnect the airbag system before making repairs near its elements.

Disabling the airbag

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Disconnect the negative terminal of the battery, then disconnect the positive terminal and wait several minutes.
2. Disconnect the connection of the module of an air cushion of safety.

The inclusion of an airbag

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Connect the connection module airbag.
2. Connect the battery cables.

Unit passenger airbag
PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Disconnect the battery and wait for a few minutes.
2. Remove the glove box.
3. Remove the connector module connection, turn off fixing bolts and remove the module airbag.
4. Installation is spent upside-down removals.
