Water pump



If the water pump is defective, it must be replaced immediately, otherwise the engine may get serious damage due to overheating.

Check
PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Remove the timing belt cover.
2. Inspect the vent water pump (arrow) for leaks. If the gasket is worn out pump, the coolant will flow out of this hole.
3. Check whether the bearing is worn out the pump shaft.

Replacement

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Disconnect the negative battery terminal.
2. Drain the coolant.
3. Remove the drive belts.
4. In the 4-cylinder models unscrew the bolts of the pump of system of strengthening of a steering pump and slide to the side, without disconnecting from it hoses.
5. Remove the water pump pulley, the timing belt cover and distribution belt.
6. The 4-cylinder engines unscrew bolts (A) power steering pump bracket, the top bolts of the water pump (B).
7. Remove the lower bolts of the pump (indicated by arrows).
8. 6-cylinder engines unscrew the bolts of the water pump (indicated by arrows).
9. Remove the pump.
10. Clean the screw thread of the pump and the thread holes in the engine block.
11. Clean off the remains of the old gasket.
12. Apply sealant to new gasket and install it on the water pump.
13. Install the pump, insert and tighten the screws.
