To start and stop the engine

Before starting make sure that the parking brake.

Switch transmission to idle (for the automatic transmission lever is in position P or N).

The key in the lock of a steering in position 2 to rotate.

It should come on the battery indicator lamp.

Cold engine

Turn the key in the lock of a steering to the right until it stops, and immediately let go if the right engine ignition.

During the winding of the accelerator pedal does not touch it.

Warm engine

Turn the key in the lock to lock to the right. Accelerator pedal not touch. If the engine fails to start after 4 seconds, push the accelerator pedal and then start until grab the ignition. Release the key and the accelerator pedal.

At too high a temperature of the coolant zavodki time can be shortened if slowly pushing the gas pedal to the beginning of the rewind.

Switch off

Turn the key in the lock position O and once with the vehicle stationary pull. At very high coolant temperature, for example after a trip in the mountains, do not turn off the engine immediately and allow about 1 minute idling.


A warning

Due to the built-in lock restart the machine before a new start-up, turn the key in the lock of a steering back to the "O". Immediately after start of control oil pressure. With strong cooling of the engine can be observed for some time immediately after the start Wake up oil pressure. No high speed until you establish normal oil pressure readings.


The indicator lamp Battery should go out as soon as the engine starts.

Vehicles with catalyst

In areas where temperatures often fall below -25 ?� C, we recommend the installation of a device for heating the coolant (visit service Mercedes Benz).
