Cooling

Once the motor has cooled, the coolant is circulated only in the cylinder head and engine block, and if the heating system is opened, in the heat exchanger. With increasing heating engine coolant controller (thermostat) opens the high flow circuit of the coolant. The coolant is directed through the radiator by means of constantly being in operation of the pump the liquid cooling system. The coolant flows through the radiator from the top down and thereby cooled by air which blows cooling fins.

To control the airflow to the radiator is connected with a fan connected to the hydraulic clutch. If you disable this clutch fan rotates respectively engine speed, but not faster than 1000 r / min. When the coolant temperature is about 90 ? C bimetal includes a hydraulic clutch, whereby in accordance with the engine speed increases fan speed. If the engine speed exceeds about 4500 rev / min. (4000 rev / min. At a diesel engine), the clutch is automatically disconnected fan, so that the silicon oil inside the sleeve gets too hot. Once the engine speed falls below approximately 4500 rev / min. (4000 rev / min. At a diesel engine), the fan is switched on again. Due to unstable operation of the fan increases the useful capacity of the engine and reduces fuel consumption.

The capacity of the cooling system at the 4-cylinder engine is about 8.0 liters, in the presence of air conditioning - about 9.0 liters, while the 6-cylinder engine is about 10.0 liters.

The capacity of the cooling systems in diesel 2-liter approximately 8.0 liters (about 9.0 liters), the engine capacity of 2.2 liters of about 7.0 liters (about 7.5 liters) and 2.5-liter engine around 7.5 liters. Values in brackets apply to vehicles equipped with air conditioning.
