Removal and installation of the fuel pump

The fuel pump to the fuel filter is located on the underside of the vehicle, on the right front of the rear axle (Fig. 5.48).

SEQUENCE OF WORK
Withdrawal
1. Disconnect the negative battery terminal.
A WARNING
When you disconnect the wire from the negative terminal of the battery in the memories are erased codes entered in them, such as the radio code.

2. Lift the car and establish it on support.

3. Mark the position of the cover 1 (Fig. 5.49) to facilitate assembly.

4. Clamp the suction hose 6 (Fig. 5.50) and the discharge hose 4 clips.
5. Loosen hose clamps and disconnect the fuel hoses. The flowed out fuel assemble cloth. Hoses and Fittings mark tags to ease assembly.
For the V6 engine in addition:
6. Loosen the clamp and remove the hose from the union 5 ventilation.
7. Remove the banjo bolt from the fuel pump.
8. Disconnect the fuel pump connector.
9. Remove the bolt 7 Bracket 2.
10. Remove the fuel pump 9, along with plastic sleeve 8.
Setting
11. Install the fuel pump 9 in a plastic sleeve 8. Podsobranny unit, insert the bracket 2.

A WARNING
Plastic sleeve must extend from both sides of the bracket to avoid contact of the fuel pump to the bracket. Otherwise, it may cause local corrosion.

12. Attach the fuel pump to the bracket.
13. Connect the connector.
14. Put the suction and discharge 6 4 hoses and fittings fix their collars.
For the V6 engine in addition:
15. Put on the union 5 ventilation hose and fix its collar.
16. Turn the hollow bolt to a torque of 25 Nm, setting new copper seals. If a fuel leak is allowed to tighten bolt to 30 Nm.
For all models:
17. Remove the hose clamps installed during removal.
18. Lower the car.
19. Connect the cable to the negative terminal of the battery.
20. Set the clock and enter the storage devices necessary codes.
21. Start up the engine and check the joints of the pump with the fuel lines for leaks.
22. Install the cover 1 (Fig. 5.49) of the fuel pump.
