Checking the oil level in the gearbox



In contrast to the gearbox from the engine oil is not consumed. Therefore, in terms of routine activities of maintenance is not provided replacement of oil in gearbox. However, the oil level can fall in the case of leaking gearbox. If the external examination on her body is not found traces of leaks, all right. To make sure that the oil level in the gearbox is correct, perform the following steps.

SEQUENCE OF WORK
1. Place the vehicle on the stand horizontally or use the lift.

2. Remove the engine protection for access to the oil filler plug 1 (Fig. 6.8).
3. Remove the plug on the gear box wrench 17 mm hexagon socket. This hole is used to check the oil level and fill it.
4. If the oil begins to flow immediately, its level is normal. Otherwise, check the oil level with your finger - it should be no more than 5 mm from the lower edge of the filler hole. One can use for this purpose a piece of wire to be pre-bent.
5. If the oil level is less than 5 mm from the lower edge of the filler opening, then using a funnel and a hose or a syringe, top up the oil transmission oil ATF prescribed as long as it comes out of the filler hole.
