Manual gearshift






All models of the Mercedes E-Class series are equipped with a five-speed manual transmission. In all the modern mechanical transmissions of the company Mercedes-Benz uses helical gears - they are known for their durability. If, however, the box of a gear out of order, repair should be carried out in the workshop. However, even service stations tend to send the defective transmission to specialized repair centers.

PRACTICAL ADVICE
Difficulties with gearshift
Problems with the gear change may be associated with a malfunction of the gearbox, and a deterioration of the switching mechanism. In this case:
1. Consult an experienced specialist. To resolve this problem may require the removal, demolition, repair or replacement of gearbox.
2. If the transfer of bad switch on a new car, it could be an error in the assembly. Claims must be made during the warranty period.
3. It is possible to properly install the switching mechanism or wear it in front of a mounting box or gear shift lever at the rear. Make sure that the switching mechanism at the base of the lever was always well lubricated.
4. If the gear lever into one of the positions transferred much easier, perhaps, unfasten the corresponding draft.
