Removal and installation of a torsion rod



Details of installation of a torsion rod front suspension

A - Models manufacture 31.07.98

B - models of release since 1.8.98


PERFORMANCE ORDER

All the self-locking nuts and bolts must be replaced without fail!

Torsion rod rack repair kits are available for models with the release 1.8.98 - in case of failure of the components of earlier versions should fully replace the rack-mount units to a more modern!

  1. Details of installation of a torsion rod shown in the illustration, which includes all the links in the text.
  2. Remove protection crankcase.
  3. Remove noise insulation.
  4. Remove the clamps (22b) from the lower control arms (4) and rubber bushings (22a).
  5. Release the bottom bracket (21b) rack mount and remove the torsion bar (10).
  6. Remove the rubber plugs from the top of the bar (22a and 21a), preliminary having marked their mounting position.
  7. On models of release since 01/08/98 washers (21i).
  8. Remove the retaining clips (21k).
  9. If applicable, loosen the fixing nut, remove the axle bolt and remove the rack torsion rod (21e).
  10. Extract the bushing from the rack (21h).
  11. Installation is in the reverse order - Ensure correct location of rubber plugs, before tightening the fasteners align bar.
