Faulty airbag modules prior to disposal are subject to mandatory discharge - contact your service specialist.

Driver Air Bag

Details of installation of the driver airbag module on models of release on 06.30.02

1 - The airbag module

Details of installation of the driver airbag module on models of release since 01.07.02

PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Move the steering wheel all the way back.
  2. On models corresponding complete set (code ET2) activate the service mode of the emergency call TELE AID (see. Section Activate / deactivate the service mode of the emergency call AID TELE).
  1. Turn on the auxiliary battery and connect it to a standard battery, then disconnect the negative cable last.

    7 - Auxiliary battery
    8 - terminal positive wire module
    9 - negative terminal wire module
    W10 - Ground Battery
  1. Remove the mounting bolts (2).
  2. On models of release on 06/30/02, lift the driver's air bag module (1) and disunite a socket (5) wiring the multifunction steering wheel (5). Also, disconnect the wiring from the igniter (R12 / 13) airbags.
  3. On models of release since 01.07.02 lift module (1), release the clips (3) and disunite sockets (5) of the two igniters (R12 / 13 and R12 / 14) and the connector (4) the multifunction steering wheel.
  4. Remove the driver airbag module (1).
  5. Installation is in the reverse order - track reliability of fixing of contact sockets.

On models of release since 01.07.02 dock connector (5) should be accompanied by audibly.

  1. On models corresponding complete set (code ET2) deactivate service mode of TELE AID (see. Section Activate / deactivate the service mode of the emergency call AID TELE).
  2. Finally, make the DTC reading and clearing of system memory on-board self-diagnostic scanner using STAR DIAGNOSIS (6511 1801 00) (see chap. Systems of an electric motor) and perform basic programming.

Passenger Air Bag

PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. On models corresponding complete set (code ET2) activate the service mode of the emergency call TELE AID (see. Section Activate / deactivate the service mode of the emergency call AID TELE).
  1. Turn on the auxiliary battery and connect it to a standard battery, then disconnect the negative cable last.

    7 - Auxiliary battery

  1. Remove the glovebox (see chap. Body).
  2. Disconnect the electrical wiring from the initiator of the gas generator, - when connecting track reliability connector snaps into place.
  3. Give nuts screws mounting brackets (1) (two screws on each bracket).
  4. Remove the screws (3) securing the instrument panel mounted on the handle.
  5. Remove the screws (4) securing the passenger airbag module (2) to the support bracket dashboard.
  6. Remove the module (2) assembly from the mounting bracket.
  7. If necessary, separate module (2) from the bracket.
  8. Installation is in the reverse order - with the appropriate configuration (code ET2) deactivate service mode of TELE AID (see. Section Activate / deactivate the service mode of the emergency call AID TELE).
  9. Finally, make the DTC reading and clearing of system memory on-board self-diagnostic scanner using STAR DIAGNOSIS (6511 1801 00) (see chap. Systems of an electric motor) and perform basic programming.
