The front spring and damper strut

Withdrawal

The front suspension from one side.

As illustrated above, the new developed by Nissan front suspension has an unusual appearance. Although used suspension struts with coil springs and hydraulic shock absorbers, the underside of the strut is equipped with a mount, which is commonly used in the shock absorber rear shock. Removal and installation thanks to this constructive solution is very simple.

It should be remembered that the strut is not subject to disassembly, t. E. If the shock absorber has lost its shock-absorbing properties, it is necessary to replace the entire rack.

PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Lift the front of the car and establish on supports.
  2. Remove the wheel.
  3. Install a wishbone-lift and lift it slightly.
  4. On the inside of the engine compartment, loosen the three screws that hold the spring strut on the support from the top. Do not remove the nut in the middle, as it holds the spring strut in the assembled state. In the case of parts replacement strut can be unscrewed.
  5. Loosen the nut and bolt on the underside of the strut, beat out a bolt and release spring strut.
  6. Slowly lower the lift at the same time bringing the knuckle of engagement with the damper strut.

Dismantling strut

If necessary, disassemble the spring strut before you start, consider the following points:

The coil springs of different procedures in this manual models differ from each other. Also supplied with a variety of spring, depending on the engine. When ordering new parts to be remembered. The springs are color-coded. Also, the spring should not be confused sometimes, if both springs removed.

To replace the shock-absorber strut does not understand. If the dampening properties lost or worn piston rod, replace the entire spring strut.

When replacing a coil spring, make sure that in the spring strut no dirt.

Never clamp the spring strut in a vise, and to make the plate which can be screwed to the rack. The plate can be clamped in a vise.

The illustration below shows the strut replacement parts.

Individual elements strut

1 - upper grommet
2 - a nut, 45 - 55 N ??? m
3 - installation
4 - the upper spring seat
5 - the top rubber pad
6 - Top grommet
7 - cup
8 - dust sleeve
9 - Buffer compression stroke
10 - Coil Spring
11 - strut

To disassemble the needs constrictor spring.

PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Guided by the illustration below, compress the spring until the top support of a rack can not be rotated by hand. This may be used two hooks detrusor.

Loose nut the piston rod. Despreader and a compression spring to hold the rod using a wrench.

  1. Slacken the piston rod at the inner side of the upper support holding a piston rod with a wrench, as shown in the illustration.
  2. Based on the remove all the parts of the upper support and then the coil spring from the strut. Be careful not to scratch or damage the piston rod.
  3. Thoroughly clean the parts with benzine and dried with compressed air. Make sure that all parts are free of dust and dirt. Well check out the details. Shown in the circuit diagram worn or damaged parts can be replaced.

Assembling strut

Guided gather spring strut, considering the following points:

PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Displacing the air from the shock absorber, sliding a few times up and down the piston, the piston must take place each time its full course. Pull the piston rod, if the party is at the bottom of the knuckle. Push the plunger if the party is at the top knuckle.
  2. Compress the spring despreader and put on an amortization rack. Make sure that it is properly sat in the cup.
  3. Put in order all the parts shown in the on the spring strut. Put on the piston rod buffer compression stroke, dust sleeve and a cup in the right direction. Before you put on the top support strut, it is necessary to find a groove on the outer circumference. Slide bearing so that the recess when installed strut facing the interior of the vehicle. In this connection, follow the shock absorber. It is stamped arrow is on the left side should be turned back, and the right side forward. Notch and arrow must align with each other.
  4. Screw the new nut piston rod while holding the rod, as shown in the and tighten the nut with a force of 18 - 24 N ??? m.
  5. Slowly release constrictor spring and check that the spring came into the cup on the strut.

Installing the strut

Installing the strut in reverse sequence of removal. Make sure that the brake hose at connection is not twisted.

PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. After installation, turn the steering wheel from stop to stop and check that the hose does not come across on any parts of the car. Torque values listed in the Specifications in the beginning of Chapter.
  2. Tighten the three nuts of the upper suspension strut attachment to the body with a force of 45 - 53 N ??? m. Hammer shock absorber bolt on the underside of the transverse arm.
  3. Finally, bleed the brake system if the brake hose was disconnected.
