The vehicle identification number



A typical plate is located at position (1) in the illustration on the right side of the bulkhead engine compartment.

Position nameplate vehicle (1) and the chassis number (2).

In addition, vehicle identification number (2) is engraved towards the middle of the bulkhead. Chassis number for some models may look like the following:

SJN BAA P10 UO XXXXX.

Some letters have the following meaning:

The first three letters indicate that it is a car Nissan.

Next "B" stands for sedan. If this place is ?�F?� it is a coupe (hatchback). Models touring this place is ?�W?�.

The next letter denotes mounted engine. "A" is used to refer to 1.6 liters, "C" to indicate a 2-liter engine.

The designation "P10" is the factory designation for a series of performances.

The next letter is always ?�U?�, as the cars are meant for European countries. Next ?�O?� has no special significance. Behind this letter is followed by the serial number of the car.

The nameplate contains important information about the permissible weight of the vehicle, ie. E.
