Fuel filter

Removal and installation of the fuel filter in the following order:

- Disconnect the negative terminal of the battery;

- Raise the rear of the car and fix it on supports or use a pit.

Engines SOHC:

- Loosen the bracket, remove the bottom protection for access to the filter;

- Press a fuel hoses 1 (Fig. 5.15) on both sides of the filter;

- Loosen the 2 mounting clamps and hoses, remove hoses from the filter 3;

- Remove the screw 4 and remove the filter.

Installation spend to sequences, return to removal. The arrows on the filter housing indicates the direction of the flow of fuel.

Engines DOHC:

- Place a cloth under the fuel pressure hose in the engine compartment;

- Slowly loosen the connection and remove the pressure in the fuel system;

- After removal of the pressure, re-tighten;

- Loosen the couplings, disconnect hoses from the filter and remove the washers on each side of the filter. The washers must be replaced along with the filter;

- Loosen and remove the filter.

Installation spend to sequences, return to removal.
