Fuel tank



A WARNING
The fuel tank must be removed in a well-ventilated area.

Removal and installation of a fuel tank in the following order:
- Disconnect the negative terminal of the battery;
- Raise the rear of the car and fix it on supports or use a pit;

- Remove cover 1 (see. Fig. 5.12) filler;
- Drain the remaining fuel from the tank;
- Disconnect the hose from the filter or the fuel pump and drain the fuel into the special container;
- Remove the floor covering in the trunk;
- Disconnect the electric plug from the cap 8 of the fuel tank;
- Mark the location of the fuel hose fittings on the cover and remove them from unions;
- Open the fuel filler;
- Remove the rubber seal 3 and the retaining ring 2;
- To gain access to the filler neck, remove the right rear wheel;
- Remove the bolts securing the filler neck 25 to the wheel arch;
- Set the jack under the fuel tank;
- Between the jack and the tank put a wooden lining;
- Raise the jack so that the weight of the fuel tank was perceived by a jack;
- Remove the bolt 20 fixing the tire 21, the holding tank;
- Slowly lower the tank;
- Disconnect fuel and ventilating hoses;
- Remove the tank from under the car;
- If the tank is dirty, remove the fuel pump and rinse the tank with clean fuel;
- If the tank is damaged or leaking, replace it;
- Check the valve by disconnecting the hoses and remove the valve from the lock. In the vertical position and the correct orientation, the valve should be open, but at an inclination of 45 ?� it must be closed;
- Check the drain valve, attach the hose and fed through the air. When the lever is in the extreme position, the valve is closed. When the lever is set in the direction of the arrow, the valve must be opened.
