Checking the engine start

If the starter by turning the ignition key to the corresponding position does not work, then the following reasons:
- Discharged battery;
- Violation of the electrical circuit between the ignition switch, the traction relay, the battery and the starter;
- Failure of the traction relay.
To check the battery status lights turn on. If the lights fade after a few seconds of operation, this indicates that the battery is discharged. If the lights are burning bright, turn on the ignition and let the starter. If the lights dim when you start the starter, it indicates that the voltage supplied to the starter and damage to be found in it. If the starter lights continue to burn brightly and not clicking in the starter, it indicates that there is a fault in the electrical power supply circuit of a starter. If the starter rotates slowly but deliberately battery in good condition, it indicates a fault in the starter, or a high resistance in the food chain starter.
If faulty power circuit starter, disconnect the wires from the starter, the traction relay and ground bus from the engine. Thoroughly clean all the contacts and reconnect the wires. Connect a voltmeter to the starter terminals and ensure that it served the full battery voltage.
If the battery and electrical circuits in good condition, remove the pin of the traction relay, connect the voltmeter and check that it is energized when the starter.
Contacts traction relay can be checked by connecting a voltmeter between the positive terminal of the starter motor and the "ground". When the ignition the voltmeter should show the full voltage. If the voltage is missing, faulty contacts of the traction relay.
If the electrical circuit and the traction relay are serviceable, it means that the faulty starter motor.
