Flywheel

Removing the flywheel in the following sequence:
- Remove from the vehicle powertrain (engine, clutch and gearbox assembly);
- Disconnect from the engine gearbox and clutch;

Fixing flywheel special device
Fig. 3.22. Fixing flywheel special device

- Fix a flywheel from turning special tool (Fig. 3.22);
- Unscrew and remove the flywheel end of the crankshaft;
- Put a marker marks on the flywheel end of the crankshaft and to follow the correct installation of the flywheel.

Fixing a leading disk special device
Fig. 3.23. Fixing a leading disk special device

On models with automatic transmission (automatic transmission) for the end of the crankshaft mounted drive plate, which is attached to the torque converter. Removal steps leading disk is similar to the sequence of removal of the flywheel (Fig. 3.23, 3.24).
Troubleshooting flywheel includes:
- Examination of the ring gear. If you have a broken or badly worn teeth should be replaced or flywheel ring gear;
- Examination of the working surface of the flywheel - the surface of contact with the clutch plate. In the presence of her grooves, scratches or severe development needed polishing surface in a specialized workshop, followed by balancing the flywheel or his replacement.

The position marks the moment of ignition
Fig. 3.25. The position marks the moment of ignition 1 - TDC; 2 - mark the moment of ignition; A = 14,5 mm

Installing the flywheel is performed in reverse order of removal. The new flywheel only TDC, the ignition timing mark must be applied (Fig. 3.25). The distance A is equal to 14.5 mm at an angle of 6 ? ignition timing BTDC. On the threads of the new bolts is applied special means interfering their unscrewing.

Measure the distance from the back of the plane to the cylinder mounting surface of the torque converter

Drive plate
Fig. 3.24. Drive disk: 1 - a leading disk; 2 - bolt drive plate; 3 - the pressure plate; 4 - an adjusting washer

When replacing the drive plate (on cars with automatic transmission) is necessary to adjust the distance A (Fig. 3.26) on the back of the plane to the cylinder mounting surface of the torque converter, which should be 19,5-21,1 mm. It changes shim 4 (see. Fig. 3.24).
When installing, install new bolts of the flywheel or drive plate. Before installation, apply a special glue for fixing bolts from loosening. Before tightening the bolts flywheel fix a flywheel from turning (see. Fig. 3.22, 3.23).
