Overview

Liquid-cooled engine, inline four-cylinder, with one (SOHC) or two (DOHC) camshafts positioned in the cylinder head, mounted transversely at the front of the car. The crankshaft has five main bearings. The central main bearing arranged persistent half rings, which is governed by the axial play of the crankshaft. The camshaft is driven by a toothed belt gear of the crankshaft. The timing belt also turns the intermediate shaft drive of the distributor of ignition, the oil pump and fuel pump carburetor engines. Cams camshaft put pressure on the valves through hydraulic tappets, which automatically compensate for thermal valve clearances. On engines DOHC from the crankshaft by a timing belt exhaust camshaft, which in turn, through a chain of transmission is inlet camshaft. Gear type oil pump installed in the sump of the engine.
Without removal of the engine from the vehicle can perform the following work:
- Check the compression in the cylinders;
- Removing and installing cylinder head cover;
- Removal and installation of the cylinder head;
- Removal and installation of a pulley and gear of the crankshaft;
- Replacement cuffs crankshaft;
- Removal and installation of the timing belt;
- Replacement of the oil filter;
- Removal and installation of the oil pump;
- Removal and installation of the oil pan;
- Removal and installation of a flywheel;

Supports mounting power plant
Fig. 3.1. Supports mounting the power unit: I - rear right; II - rear left;
III - front; 1-7 - bolts.

- Replacement of support of the power unit (engine, clutch and gearbox assembly) (Fig. 3.1).
To remove the intermediate shaft and the crankshaft must first dismantle the engine from the car.
