Rear strut



Removing the rack in the following order:
- Lock the front wheels in the "car RV";

- In-car rear seat backrest forward. On cars with a body the versatile remove the side trim in the luggage compartment and the rear pillar trim (Fig. 10.23, 10.24), then remove the belt guide (Fig. 10.25). To remove the belt guide, insert a screwdriver under the guide and turn it;
- Loosen the seat belt inertia reel from the bracket at the top of the rack;

- Unscrew the two screws on the upper rack (Fig. 10.26);

- In a hole under the car arm rear axle set the required key dimensions in the nut (Fig. 10.27), clamping bolt of the bottom fastening of a rack, remove the bolt and remove it from the arm;
- For vehicles with self-leveling suspension system depressurized and disconnect the air line from the shock absorber and the sensor wires from the left shock absorber;
- Slowly lift the rear of the car and fix on support column;

- Disconnect the rack from the lever and rotate it so that the top locking device to align the rack with four slots on the body (Fig. 10.28);
- Remove the rack along with the coil spring from under the car.

Repair Stand
Removal in the following order:
- Clean the shock absorber base from dirt;
- To remove the coil spring is necessary to compress the spring using the special adaptation for compression of springs;

A WARNING
When installing the grips on the coils of the spring, take care to lock securely fixed on the spring and when it jumped compression. Spring is compressed evenly on both sides. Because of the danger of injury in any case does not contract the turns of the spring wire.

- Compress the spring until until there is an upper suspension strut;

A WARNING
Central nut is possible to turn on only when the compressed spring.

- With the lever 21 remove the cover (fig. 10.29) with the upper holding device and a sealing ring of round cross-section 2;
- Unscrew the self-locking nut 20, and remove the Belleville washer 19, the upper rubber grommet 18 and the upper strut;
- Remove the spacer 17, a lower rubber grommet 6, a metal cap 7, 8 and washer spring seat 5;
- Remove the spring 12, the buffer 9 and the plastic cover 11;
- If necessary, uncompress the special adaptation for compression of springs and release the spring.
Check .Check all elements of the shock absorber for wear, damage or deformation.
Check for smooth stroke shock absorber.
Check for leaks shock absorber and its piston rod to pitting over the entire length. If there are defects shock absorber should be replaced.

NOTE
The new spring has a corrosion-resistant paint. Before installing the spring, check the integrity of the coating and, if necessary touch up the spring.

Coil springs are identified by colored labels, and in case of replacement of change in the pair.

- Replace the spring seat of the spring (Fig. 10.30). This side of the socket, designated word ?�Federanfang?� (beginning of spring) must be connected to the end of the coil spring;
- Compress the spring and install a special device in the rack, keeping an eye on the fact that the lower end of the spring to properly install in the lower bowl of the spring;

- Establish a support strut so that the axis passing through the rack mounting bolts located at an angle of 50 ?� relative to the bottom of the eye of the shock absorber (Fig. 10.31);
- Further assembly is carried out in the reverse sequence of disassembly.
