Changing the engine oil and oil filter

For lubrication of the engine parts used motor oil.
In addition to the lubrication of the pistons, bearings and other moving parts, it helps seal the cylinders from the high-pressure removes heat from the hot spots, it distributes in the oil pan and reduces corrosion.
After a certain time, the engine oil becomes contaminated due to contact with soot, acids and impurities, its viscosity is reduced, the resulting oil loses its ability to withstand high pressure and temperature. The oil should be changed every six months, this time interval was changed for the release of vehicles from the beginning of 1996. In the journal of scheduled maintenance work contains information on when to change the oil. It is not necessary to replace the oil filter.
When draining the engine oil car set on reliable support. It is best to set the front wheels to the support rack, as shown in Fig. 97.

Apply the parking brake. In no case can not lift the car just one car jack, if you have to work under the vehicle. The old oil is drained best when it is warm. Put a drain hole low capacitance and thoroughly clean the area around the plug. Unscrew the cap.

A warning
Do not discharge into drains and onto the ground.

When draining oil to thoroughly clean the drain plug and check the condition of the sealing ring. After emptying the oil pan screw again the plug outlet and tighten to 30 Nm.
Drain the engine oil can be checked. If you touch the friction between the thumb and index finger it appears grainy or visible particles silvery probably damaged bearings. The presence of water or a yellowish tint are signs of oil leaking cylinder head gasket. Light brown (or black) oil clearly needs to change.
Fresh engine oil poured into the filler neck of the funnel. Sometimes it is difficult to determine the exact quantity of oil, so it should pour slowly, constantly monitoring the level of oil level probe and determining the time of filling the oil pan according to the instructions. We have to wait for some time until the oil to drain into the oil pan.
After you reach the required level of oil is necessary to tighten filler plug and start up the engine. This oil will be distributed to the engine (the filter is filled). Again, stop the engine and wait until the oil drains into the sump.
Again, check the oil level oil level dipstick. Clean oil is sometimes unnoticed on the dipstick, so it is necessary to carry out several measurements to avoid mistakes. If necessary, add engine oil to the proper level. Necessarily it is necessary to fill only oil recommended by the manufacturer.
