Oil radiator

When the engine crankcase oil temperature must not rise much in order to avoid the fall of its viscosity. Partial cooling oil occurs in the oil pan and the filter housing due to blowing of air from the cooling fan. For a more intensive cooling crankcase oil used oil radiators.
Because of different devices oil filters on the VR6 engine and 2.0 liters, various oil radiators.
Engine 2.0 L

Details of the oil pump 2.0-liter engine

On the 2.0-liter engine oil cooler 4 (Fig. 177) is located between the base 2 of the oil filter and oil filter 6. The oil cooler is removed only after the removal of the oil filter and disconnect hoses. To do this, unscrew the nut 5 with the bottom surface of the oil cooler. Between the oil cooler and the base set O-ring 3. When assembling the nut should be tightened to 25 Nm.

On the VR6 engine oil radiator liquid cooling set on the side of the cylinder block (Fig. 178).
When cooling liquid is an oil cooler housing through which the working fluid of the engine cooling system, and reduced engine oil temperature is performed with cooling liquid. Hoses for the inlet and outlet of the coolant coming to the point of attachment on the filter.
Remove the oil filter can be after the coolant is drained from the cooling system and disconnect hoses supplying coolant. Then unscrew the cap from the outside of the oil filter and remove the radiator. On each side of the oil cooler is an O-ring seal, which should always be changed if the oil cooler has been removed.
Oil cooler with liquid cooling provides not only cooling oil when working in difficult conditions, but also the rapid heating oil when the engine is started.
When installing the oil cooler, lubricate the two O-rings with engine oil. Install the radiator cap and tighten to 25 Nm. Attach the hoses and fill in cooling liquid in cooling system.
