Measuring the cylinder bores

To measure the cylinder bores required bore gauge (Fig. 447). We would like to warn you that the use of such a device is not easy, since the inclination of the measuring tips, you will get the wrong measurement results. If you do not Nutromer or you do not know how to use it, you will not be able to carry out the following work. In this case, better to turn to the service station. The measurements should be carried out of the cylinder bore in the longitudinal and transverse direction. Using bore gauge, measure the diameter of the cylinder at a distance of 10 mm from the top edge of the cylinder bore, and then at a distance of 10 mm from the bottom edge of the cylinder bore. Spend another stood in the center of the cylinder bore. A total of six measurement results. Write down all the values and compare them with the data in the table of adjustment and control. Remember that bore gauge in the bore of the cylinder must be placed at a right angle, because even the slightest imbalance leads to incorrect measurement results. If a bore gauge is inserted, as shown in Fig. 447, that it may lean to the right or to the left during the measurement. The arrow of the device at the same time will always come back to the mean, which is it, and in the measurement of the diameter of the cylinder bore.
| Fig. 448. The scheme of measuring cylinder bores. Measure each cylinder bore in the direction A (cross direction measurements), and B (the longitudinal direction of measurement). The measurements should be carried out at three locations, namely at a depth of 1, 2 and 3
|
Write down all 6 results for each cylinder. If you draw a diagram similar to Fig. 448, the measurement results for better clarity, are recorded in it. Bore nowhere to vary more than 0.08 mm from the nominal size.
| Fig. 449. The measurement of the diameter of the piston
|
To measure the clearance of the pistons, measure the diameter of the piston (Fig. 449), and record the diameter of the piston. To determine the clearance should be calculated the difference between the diameter of the cylinder bores and the diameter of the piston. The motor can be mounted two pistons increased (repair) sizes, which requires chiseled block.
